Chop Chop!

I did it! I chopped my hair off! I've always had this thing about going shorter for winter, I personally think that the winter "look" of coats and scarves and layers looks much more chic with a shorter crop.

So as always, I headed off to my A team at Toni & Guy Georges (just off of Collins/Little Collins st, for those of you who live in Melbourne). My lovely Jo (Owner and Art Director) and I decided to change up my whole look - swapping my usual middle part to a side swept and volumised part, chopping to a collarbone length, long layers, but above all still keeping the slightly undone, effortless look that I love. I absolutely adore Jo and have been getting my hair cut by her during my past few visits, she's one of those hairdressers who really takes her time to perfect your hair and makes sure every single mini detail is PERFECT before you leave. She's the only one I trust with my hair now!

In terms of colour, my colourist Jack (the 2014 AHFA Colourist of the Year just casually), decided to keep the darkness in my hair (most of my ombre was chopped off) but still add some really subtle lighter tones at the front (the pieces that frame the face), and also on the underside of my part, to give the look of movement (which is genius!).

Just to share the love, I managed to get a little offer from Jo and the team if you want to head over to T&G Georges for yourself:

TONI&GUY Georges would like to offer followers of The VR Verdict a complimentary Wella Deluxe Treatment valued at $39 when booking in for a cut, wash & blowdry or colour service . Call the salon on 9654 9444 to book your appointment and mention VYDIA to redeem your offer.
Located at 195 Little Collins St, Melbourne - Mezzanine level in the Georges Building

If you're after the same look, I highly recommend doing your research and finding photos of exactly what you're after. I've learnt from the past that it's always best to stick to inspiration photos of those who have similar hair textures to you. Most of the time our fave celebrities/inspirations have had a crazy team styling their hair to perfection (and that type of deal just aint practical for everyday unfortunately!). Here are some of the pics I took in to my appointment (Elin Kling being my main inspo - love her!):

Love to hear your thoughts on the new look and let me know if you'd like to see a post on how my style new chop!
