A facet of my style that I don't post often enough about is my absolute love for street wear. Be it from top players like Obey, KR3W and Dimepiece to local labels like Balla Balaclava and Ystrdaybone, you'll most likely see me sporting these labels on my days off (mixed with a little LV or Helmut Lang of course). This influence definitely stems from my older brother whose closet, I like to think, is almost an extension of my own. I've been raiding and stealing from my brother's wardrobe since I could remember, granted only the pieces that have been washed and hung obviously!
The crew behind Balla Balaclava were the biggest pleasure to work with on their latest look book shoot and the passion designer Thushan Shrimpton shows for his creation gets you nothing but excited for what the future holds for this Melbourne label. Derived from the streets of Melbourne suburb, Balaclava and influenced by hip hop culture including the likes of Kendrick Lamar and Joey Bada$$, BB definitely has that unique throwback/90s feel, offering effortlessly cool and timeless street gear.
The new drop which hits online today features some cool new safari prints, something a bit bold and different to BB's usual take on street/logo wear. The pocket and sleeve animal print detailing provides all the colour you really need, paired with the subtle BALLA tags, it's a winner...
