Ask Vydia | Leather Jackets

Hi Vydia, would you be able to do a post on nice leather jackets under $400? I'm trying to find something nice to wear this winter and love to hear your recommendations. Emily x

Hey gorgeous girl! Love your style, it's perfection!! I loved your blog post on the perfect winter coat and was wondering if you could do a post on finding the perfect leather jacket? I've been on the hunt for ages. Hoping your cool style will point me in the right direction! Love, Isabella

Hi ladies, thank you for your questions! Black leather jackets are so important when building your wardrobe and checking off of the basics list. I would definitely recommend investing in a good leather jacket, because it is such a basic and timeless wardrobe staple. Just like I mentioned in my perfect winter coats post, "investing" is totally subjective so just work within your budget and try to find the best with what you've got. What you regard as "timeless" can be found at any price point.

The leather coat I've chosen for myself this winter is the Cambridge Leather Jacket from Indiana by Freda. I'm absolutely in love with it and will definitely be featuring it in an upcoming outfit post!

So I've divided up this post into some of my favourite leather jackets of the moment, all at a few different price points - luxe, mid range and affordable.

This Rick Owens number has been on my list ever since I saw Ashley Olsen sporting it to a Calvin Klein event. So amazing and the ultimate leather jacket.

I fell in love with this White Suede leather on the left when I saw it at the Spring/Summer 14 preview. The perforated leather is something a bit different and unique. I would recommend the WS if you've already got a staple leather jacket you love and are looking for something new but still has a classic shape and colour.

I've been obsessed with a new website I recently discovered (like I really needed to discover another shopping source) called And Other Brands. They stock some really lovely classic and monochrome pieces that work well with everyone's wardrobe - a really good place for basics as well! I'm loving these two jackets from Warehouse and Oasis which are both faux leather, so obviously a lot less expensive compared to the previous jackets. The Oasis leather has to be my favourite, LOVE the quilted detailing!

Hope this has helped!
