What's In Your Bag?

One of my all time favourite blog posts by editors is the "What's in my bag" post. There's always something interesting about what people consider to be essentials, and ultimately, what's worthy enough to carry around with them every single day. Not only can you discover some new holy grail type products, but you can also pick up some handy tips on organisation and how to minimise the clutter! Just a heads up, I have none of the latter tips, oops.

So here's what's in my bag, and this really is what I carry on the regular (with the exception of changing up some of the beauty essentials).
- The boring: wallet, phone, keys, notebook, pencil
Yep just the mandatory things you need before leaving the house, bit boring here. I would usually also carry around a separate notebook for uni and a pencil/pen that's not actually mine (I'm that person who always forgets and has to ask the person next to me in class to borrow a pen - thanks Abana for this pencil!).

- iPad
My iPad is everything and literally contains every aspect of my life on it. I'll usually do everything on my iPad including organising my diary, replying to emails, social media, uni work, entertainment, everything. Hands down the greatest tech creation by Apple and a must have for everyone.

- Headphones
I always have headphones in my bag as a precautionary, I hate having to sit and wait or walk between classes when I'm by myself without listening to some music. So I'm always prepared with my Beats by Dre headphones, which I love. Right now I've got A$AP Rocky's Long.Live.A$AP dominating My Top Rated.

- MAC Blot Powder
A friend suggested this to me ages ago and it would have to be my favourite powder from MAC (besides the MSF natural). Love this light, translucent powder to keep my skin looking matte particularly during the later parts of the day. It's one of those products where you can't screw up, the coverage is hardly noticeable and the natural finish means it's almost impossible for it to look cakey even when used with a heavy hand. Overall, love this product because of how long lasting it is, one touch up in the afternoon can last me for rest of the day usually. Essential!

- MAC Fix Plus
I tend to keep Fix Plus in my bag especially when the weather starts to get colder and my skin looks even more noticeably dry and dull. I know it's a bit of a hit or miss product for some people, after all it doesn't "fix" or set your makeup in any way shape or form in my opinion, you'll have better luck with Skindinavia's makeup finishing spray for that purpose. However, it does add "life" back into your skin by returning some moisture and a healthy looking sheen back to your complexion.

- Lipsticks
I usually carry two lipsticks around with me - a bright and a neutral. I'll use the neutral shade as my everyday colour which looks good with any eye look. If I'm heading out that night and want my look to transition into an evening appropriate look, I'll use my bold shade to brighten and add some interest. Right now, I've got MAC's Hug Me as my neutral and Inglot's 408 as my bright. I usually stick to matte textures when I wear a bold lip, to me, it's more understated and a lot less full on. Having a bright shade in your bag can be really versatile as well, I sometimes take a little of this Inglot red to wear as a light stain.

- Bumble and Bumble Thickening Hairspray
Bumble and Bumble make some great styling products and I've recently been in love with the thickening hairspray to add some volume back into my hair which has the tendency to get a bit flat by the end of the day (especially if I've left it in it's natural state which is extremely straight). Because I tend to wear my hair wavy, this spray really helps to keep my hair in place and my curls looking natural and beachy. If you want something a bit more root lifting, my favourite dry shampoo by Aveda (Pure Abundance Hair Potion) or even the Klorane dry shampoo will give you some major volume action.

- Neutral eyeshadow
My everyday eye look usually consists of no significant eyeshadow - usually a winged eyeliner with a matte (MUST be matte!) highlight in the inner corner and on the brow bone. However, if I need to amp up my eye look, I'll usually carry around a neutral eyeshadow in a shimmery (not glittery) texture. Right now, I've got Nars' Galapagos shimmer eyeshadow on hand to smudge along the lash line and create a super easy brown smokey look.

And if you're as obsessed with Centenera as I am, thanks to Vogue we can now take a little peek into the fashion godmother's bag:
