March Favourites

Happy Easter long weekend everyone! I’m lucky enough to also have the week off thanks to our mid semester uni break, so fingers crossed it’s a productive week!

And here we are again with another monthly favourites and like always here I am questioning how quickly the previous month has gone, but honestly I can’t believe it’s April already! Lots of exciting things are happening in April and I can’t wait to share everything with you all. But first, here are my March favourites:

1. Steve Madden ACEDD boots (available here)
I've been pairing these boots with absolutely every one of my outfits recently. I'm absolutely in love with the dark charcoal colour (not black! Surprise!), studded detailing and the low heel, which makes it ultra comfortable and perfect as an everyday shoe. They look amazing with black leather pants (like the one I've been wearing recently by Oneoneseven) or with torn denim shorts and a black blazer with the sleeves rolled up. Definitley my new favourite boots for the colder days!

2. Nars Sheer Glow Foundation (available here)
Since the weather has been getting colder and colder recently here in Melbourne, my skin has been feeling more dry and dehydrated than usual. This has been my go to foundation thanks to how moisturising the formula is and how lovely it sits and looks on the skin even throughout the day. You can read my full review on the Nars Sheer Glow here.

3. Runway Scout Leather Shorts (
Leather shorts have become one of those staple leather pieces. I've seen a lot of faux leather running shorts recently, but I have to admit, this is the best one I've seen. Despite the cold weather, I've been loving these faux leather shorts from Runway Scout (LOVE this website!). The faux leather is a lovely soft material which is super comfortable to wear and the shorts even have pockets which I was so excited to see (I hate shorts/pants that don't have pockets!!). I've been recently pairing these shorts with a black button up or a light denim shirt (I love denim and leather (and leopard!) together). These shorts aren't available yet on the Runway Scout website, however you can email the AMAZING Susan at to order.

4. Tara Wolf Zodiac Bracelet (available here)
I've been wearing my Scorpio bracelet every single day since I got it this month. I've been really into the whole silk cord bracelet trend and pairing this bracelet with my TW chakra bracelet (which I featured in my previous monthly favourites) has been my new favourite thing. You can purchase these bracelets with a specifically coloured cord (special to your Zodiac sign) or with a standard black cord. Black cord thanks!

5. SkinnyMe Tea (available here)
I've been on my 28 day teatox for around 3 weeks now, and I'm really enjoying it - especially drinking it on the go in my hot pink T2 cup. I'm not going to talk too much about it for now, I'm saving all my thoughts for my full review that will be out around the end of the week, so stay tuned!

6. Louis Vuitton Speedy 35
No surprises here!

7. Shilla Expectations Chunky Knit (
This knit is the greatest thing that's happened to me this month (slight exaggeration). I'm beyond LOVING this label since I discovered it late last month, and if you haven't heard of them before, make sure you head to the Shilla website to check out their pieces and styling. Right up my street! When I think about, I've probably worn it everyday I've been at uni, oops! Not only is the material a super soft comfortable knit but the shape is what I really love. I'm not a fan at all of jumpers that finish well below the hips, I find it looks a bit weird. But I love how this knit sits just at the hips, just enough to see the waistband of your pants/shorts/skirt but not showing any skin of course. Just a simple everyday basic that everyone should have in their wardrobe, regardless of the season!

New Label Love...Tully Lou

Hope you're all having a great week so far!

I'm actually a massive fan of sportswear and workout clothes, I rock the head to toe nike look on the regular.

One of the main reasons for this is because workout gear has come so far from the boring, plain and unexciting that now, they are honestly considered a style statement in itself. Labels like Lulu Lemon and Stella McCartney for Adidas have really lifted the workout gear game and just recently, so has the label Tully Lou, the creation of the amazing Bikram Instructor, Tully Humphrey.

Tully Lou is all about bright colours, unique detailing, head turning shapes and of course comfort at a great price point. Being a gym, yoga and street wear label, TL epitomises the notion look good, feel good. If these designs aren't the perfect excuse to go for a run or hit the yoga mat, I don't know what is!! Something I love about TL is the philosophy behind the label, which focuses on wellbeing and instilling confidence and excitement to work out and be motivated to make a positive lifestyle change. It's a really great message to send because not only are you looking great but you're also changing your attitude and in turn, how you feel about yourself as well.

So here's me styling some TL gear:

Tully Lou Mana Tank (under Nicholas full sleeve top) - $70.00
Tully Lou Parna Pant - $75.00

I LOVE the neck detailing on the Mana Tank and think it looks great when worn with a low scoop neck top. I also love TL's versatility and it's ability to transition into street wear, I can definitley see myself rocking this look with a pair of white Converse chucks to go do some shopping.

Tully Lou Spider Top (under Nicholas full sleeve top) - $64.95
Tully Lou Lotus Capri - $70.00
The North Face Vest

These Lotus capris are definitley a favourite, I love the hot pink detailing!

The Asymmetrical Jersey Skirt

If you've been following my style for a while now, you would know I've got a bit of a skirt obsession going on.

This obsession is currently being fuelled by my new LOVE for asymmetrical jersey skirts. If you're familiar with these skirts, you would know it's synonymous with one of my favourite labels, Helmut Lang. Now don't get me wrong, I'm completely aware that asymmetrical skirts (i.e. short at the front, long at the back) have been around for ages, but right now I'm loving the wrap element seen at the front of these style of skirts in particular.

Not only are these skirts super comfortable thanks to the jersey material, but they're also a great transitional piece (perfect for Melbourne weather). They also have an amazing ability to transform from an effortless day look to a more edgy night look.

If you're in love with this skirt style like I am but prefer a more lighter on the wallet option (it's actually an absolute steal), I've found this DIVINE alternative from a label I've been loving recently called Shilla.

Brigade Rouched Asymmetrical Jersey Skirt - $59.95 (available here)

I've seen quite a few of these skirts around in different colours but still think a classic black or marle grey would be the most versatile option!

Outfit Of The Night 14.03.13

Continuing from my last post, here's what I wore to the Muse exhibition! And no surprises, it's black on black on black.

As you all may know, I've become a tiny bit (slash majorly) obsessed with wrap and asymmetrical skirts lately. So when I saw this vegan leather (i.e. faux leather) skirt from the label Premonition I was obviously like holy shit I need this. And thanks to the lovely Susan at Runway Scout (which has honestly become my new fave online shopping destination) I managed to get my hands on one!!

The fit of this skirt is beyond and the faux leather is an absolute dream to wear thanks to it's stretch, super comfortable! The rest of the outfit is just your regular essentials (which basically sums up the formula for all of my outfits - one statement piece with an interesting texture, pattern, or cut, mixed with everyday basics). Easy.

Top: Witchery
Skirt: Premonition (available from Runway Scout here)
Shoes: Tony Bianco
Bag: Louis Vuitton

I'm trying to keep my outfit posts simple with minimal pictures and focusing more on the details, so I hope you like the new format!

Muse A/W 2013 Launch Party

So last week, my lovely photographer and I headed into the CBD to check out the Muse Autumn/Winter 2013 Launch Party held at Melbourne's GPO presented by Harper's Bazaar. Not only did we see quite possibly the best looking people in Melbourne, but also some amazing new season pieces from Australia's most favourite designers like Manning Cartell, Alpha60, and Willow.

The night was an amazing exhibition of fashion as a pure art form in particular highlighting each individual designer's muse for the Autumn/Winter season.

We had such a great time having a chat with everyone and also managed to take a few hundred pictures along the way. Here are some of the highlights from our favourite designers on the night:

Sass and Bide:

Manning Cartell:

I think it's safe to say I fell in LOVE with everything at Sass and Bide. Especially the leather. And also every single piece of footwear from Acne.

The exhibition will continue to be on display for the coming month, so if you're ever in the Melbourne CBD make sure you go check it out and also enter MGPO's instagram competition. You could win $1000 to spend at the GPO by simply posting a picture of your must have Autumn/Winter piece or inspiration sourced from the GPO. Umm easy! Make sure you buy me some new Acne boots if you do win!

A big thank you to Rara Pr for having us! xxx
