February Favourites + My New LV!

And like always, another month has just magically flown by. The end of February represents 2 things to me: the start of uni and the end of summer. Both equally disappointing initially, but then you get used to it. So to cap of February, here are a couple of things I've been really enjoying recently:

1. Isabel Marant utility jacket
This jacket is kind of old in terms of collections. I first saw this it at the Spring 2012 RTW show worn by Izabel Goulart who I love (also love her shoes, let's be real):

LOVE IT and love how it plays into the whole sports luxe trend really nicely. Just a perfect piece for uni or anywhere ultra casual. Looks good with either shorts or blue washed denim without even trying, which is something I love. I purchased this piece from Studio MG which is on Toorak Rd for those who live in Melbs. Now that it's coming into the cooler months, I'll definitely be keeping this jacket on hand everywhere.

2. Friendship/Chakra bracelets
How cute are these bracelets? I'm in love!

Left:
This neon pink friendship bracelet is by a Perth jewellery label called FMN (Forget Me Not) and is designed by the lovely Sian who also makes other really beautiful handmade and limited edition pieces. These bracelets called the "Befriend Me" bracelets come in an abundance of colours and I'm thrilled I got my hands on the neon pink, it's so me. The silver detailing features the tree of life symbol on one side (or you can get a religious style instead) and on the other side, the words live love life. Love it. Thank you to the lovely Cath at Meg and Wally for all your help!

Shop Meg and Wally here.

Right:
Another bracelet I absolutely adore. Loving this Chakra bracelet by Tara Wolf who is quite known for her zodiac and chakra bracelets. They are amazing. I received the "Saturday" or Solar Plexus chakra bracelet in the silver which represents wisdom, clarity and self-esteem. I definitely need to get my hands on the Scorpio zodiac bracelet soon!

Shop Tara Wolf here.

3. Steve Madden Realove
We all know how much I love these shoes, and now I'm absolutely obsessed with the black versions! If you recall, I featured the neon pink realoves in my previous favourites post and I doubt the ankle strap heel will be going out of style anytime soon. I cant rave about these enough, they go with everything and make any outfit look effortless. Must haves.

Shop Steve Madden here.

4. Smashbox Studio Skin foundation
I'll be doing a separate post sometime soon on my favourite foundations that'll definitely feature this one! So I wont go into too much detail now, but long story short - this is how I expected MAC face and body to be, it's good coverage but still looks like skin. PERFECT!

Shop Mecca Cosmetica here.

5. The Body Shop Vanilla perfume
Everyone who knows me knows I'm absolutely OBSESSED with vanilla. Vanilla anything. Vanilla lattes, vanilla chai lattes, vanilla candles, vanilla shampoo, and of course who can forget vanilla scented fabric softener. So it's only natural for me to want to walk around drenched in vanilla perfume!!! This one by The Body Shop is one of my favourites because it's not sickly sweet, just a nice warm vanilla and definitely not fake vanilla smelling (i.e. smelling like a cake i.e. smelling like Prada Candy). Don't get me started on fake vanilla.

Shop The Body Shop here.

6. Louis Vuitton Speedy 35

My new LV!! Mum and dad were nice enough to surprise me when they got back from their holiday, and it's exactly what I wanted!

I got the Speedy 35 because I thought it would be the perfect size for uni and everyday. The reason I'm in love so much is because of the Damier Ebene canvas. It's what I like to call subtle designer. It's not in your face which I love. I just got it hot stamped at the Chadstone store where it only took about 5 minutes, and now it's perfect.

Winter is by far my favourite style season and I'm beyond excited that it's finally here (in saying that, it probably never left Melbourne in the first place). Can't wait to bring out the greys, navys, and obviously the blacks never went anywhere! Looking forward to seeing all the Melbourne winter street style real soon.

Enjoy

Hair Inspiration

I'm getting my hair done next week! This used to be one of those classic terrifying processes until I found my holy grail hairdresser. I'm at that stage now where I love getting my hair done. But before I do, I have to do some research on how I think I want to look when I leave the salon (trust me, you're stupid if you don't walk into your hairdresser without at least a picture!!).

So here are some amazing hair inspiration pics I've had saved onto my laptop for now!

Outfit Of The Day 21.02.13

Photos by Abana Sohtra (instagram @asohtra)

Top: Ballroom tee by Three Of Something
Skirt: I'm glad a lot of you liked this skirt on insta! So this is actually a skirt I made a while ago, and it's basically a regular chiffon maxi. For this look, I simply tucked in the front and tied the sides into a knot. Easy!
Shoes: Steve Madden (available here)

I've finally got around to capture myself wearing the lovely ballroom print from Three Of Something's pre fall 2013 collection. I'm a massive fan of this tee with it's black shoulders which almost look like a separate component to the shirt. I can definitely imagine myself rocking it with a pair of black skinnies and tan sandals to uni (which is approaching!).

I also own the skirt in this print which looks amazing with a plain black shirt (or if you're super cool, with the matching tee!) which I'll be featuring real soon. Make sure you check out the Three Of Something website (www.threeofsomething.com) for stockist info!

So about the maxi skirt, yes I can sew!! I've been sewing since I was a child and consider myself lucky to be able make pieces without referencing actual patterns. If you guys want to know in more detail how I achieved the side twisted look, let me know and I'll try and do a separate post on it talking you through it. It's super easy, but I think pictures would be helpful (who wants to read these days anyway?).

Also, the antique gold necklace is actually from India. I love a little touch of Bollywood every now and then.

A Wrap Skirt Obsession

(Images sourced from Google)

No one does the wrap skirt justice like Centenera. It's no wonder that it's now become my new favourite trend (which is a big call because I usually despise the notion of "trends")! I've heard a lot of names used for this type of skirt - origami, wrap-around, assymetrical. Call it what you want, it's freaking amazing. It's the type of piece that makes anything simple you're wearing look amazing. E.g. Centenera and her open black shirt. So simple and so perfect. Honestly, how can someone look that good????

Here are some of my favourite wrap skirts I've seen so far (and on my current wish list!):

Winston Wolfe The Mia Wallace (available in black and white) - $320

How amazing!!! Loving both the black and the white leather (leather = instant love) which also features alligator stamped leather (ummm yes) detailing along the waist. This has to be one of the hottest skirts out there right now. I particularly love how this skirt was styled by Elle Ferguson, just with a simple navy and white striped full sleeve and black ankle strapped heels. Perfect. Add this to my already growing WW wish list.

Visit Winston Wolfe here.

Zara Wrap Mini Skort - Not yet available in AUS

I was really surprised that this skirt was from Zara! Don't get me wrong, Zara is great, but this is just incredible looking. My only thing about this skirt is that it's a skort (yep the back has the structure of a pair shorts), yeaaahh alrighty then. Maybe not right at the top of my need-to-buy-now list anymore but still an amazing looking piece and I cant wait to check it out in person once the new season collection is released and available in stores. I am hoping there is a black version of course!

Nicholas Bonded Silk Zip skirt - $330

Love Nicholas in general. They also seem to nail the cut of every piece, it's clean and simple. I've seen this skirt come out in a few colours, including hot pink and black but I'm really loving this light cream colour. If you're after a wrap skirt that isn't too 'busy' and can be styled really easily, this one's for you!

Visit Green With Envy here.

Stylestalker Biker Skirt - $139

This Stylstalker skirt is probably my favourite after the Winston Wolfe ones. Love all the zip detailing and the fact that it's also leather. This would look amazing with a plain marle grey t-shirt and simple sandals. I found this skirt on The Iconic but it's unfortunately out of the stock, so if anyone manages to track it down, let me know!!

Sass & Bide Fall 2013

(Images sourced from Style.com)

The highly anticipated Sass & Bide Fall 2013 collection, titled "Wintergate", really did deliver in my opinion. It was traditional Sass & Bide with the extraordinary beading, embroidery and bold lines, but at the same time proved fresh and definitely on trend with the cutouts. I was really pleased to see pops of yellow, which is one of my favourite colours to pair with neutrals. In saying this, my favourite pieces were definitely the final looks, loving the floor length flowy maxis! LOVE.

What are your favourite pieces from the collection?

Outfit Of The Day 13.02.13

Top: Zara
Pants: Helmut Lang
Shoes: Steve Madden (available here)

I haven't done an outfit post in ages, sorry! To be honest, I haven't been feeling the most inspired lately and ended up going into that 'I have nothing to wear' phase!! However, rearranging my wardrobe last week really changed my outlook and got me inspired. I love finding past season pieces that you've forgotten about! And that's exactly how I found this black Helmut Lang pleated skirt. The skirt is a wardrobe essential but is a size too big, hence why it's folded over (very high school, I know).

I'm a massive fan of this outfit, it's simple and I've always loved pairing denim with black. And of course I'm wearing my favourite Steve Madden realoves in black!

A bit of news...
* I'm been asked a lot about dieting and fitness tips (which I'm no way in hell an expert at - for the most part, I'd consider myself a fruitarian), so I'm enlisting the help of someone who really knows their stuff! Can't wait to share with you all her knowledge and learn a thing or a million myself.

* Thank you again to everyone who send in questions! I'm working on answering them all, even if I don't feature them on my blog, so expect an email from me real soon :)
