The 2012 Luxury Holiday Gift Guide

As hard as it is to believe, tomorrow is December (I’m still shocked, where did 2012 go?) and December can only mean one thing, CHRISTMAS!

(Images sourced from Google)

The holiday period can be so stressful in terms of gift purchasing so I thought I'd do my best to make it as trouble free as possible for you all! This Christmas I’ve put together a list of all the things I love into what can only be described as a luxury holiday gift guide. Each day up until Christmas, I’ll be featuring a new and different gift idea that hopefully gets you inspired and ready to tackle the challenging task of what to buy your sister’s friend’s cousin’s dog’s best friend (and the like!).

I’ll be covering a wide range of ideas and products that I love from music to shoes to candles, so you’re sure to find something you like. I hope you discover new ideas, products and brands that you might not have normally heard or thought of, not just for the special people in your life but also for your own Christmas wish list!! And just a heads up, there will be a post for Men’s, kids, teens and DIY, so don’t worry!

Stay tuned and make sure you keep checking back each day to see what new and exciting ideas I would recommend! If you’re super keen on me writing about something YOU love and would like to share with everyone, let me know!

This is such an exciting project for me and I hope you’re all just as pumped as I am.

The Leather Pants

(Images sourced from Winston Wolfe)

These are the Winston Wolfe boyfriends for girlfriends leather pants. These are THE leather pants. I’ve had my eye on WW for a while now and decided to take the plunge and invest in some leather. Let’s face it, they’re the hottest.

I got these in a size 6 which provide the perfect combination of slouch and shape. And that’s something I absolutely love about these pants, the fit. It’s perfect. The leather is amazingly soft and comfortable but be warned, can get quite warm!  Up close you can see paneling around the waist and knee area, which adds so much more depth compared to other solid leather pants I’ve seen.

I wore these out the other day with a very simple white full sleeve dipped hem top by Nicholas the label and my staple kicks for the season by Steve Madden. Overall, it was so casual but so thought out. And that’s what I love in an outfit. On the outset, it looked simple but only someone who knew their stuff would understand the thought behind the decisions. #deep

I defs recommend checking out the WW website if you’re in love with leather as much as I am! Can't wait to see what comes out in future collections. I’m thinking the quilted vest next…

If you’re into the whole leather pants idea right now but don’t want to head down to WW, I have tracked down some lovely leather I also like from Shakuhachi and ASOS. Hope this helps!

Maison Martin Margiela x H&M

I don’t believe in chain stores collaborating with fashion houses. It just doesn’t work. The exception: MMM for H&M. And this is not the first time H&M got it right. If you recall a couple of years ago, they teamed up with Lanvin to produce some truly amazing and decadent pieces. So I wasn’t expecting H&M to disappoint, nor was I expecting any miracles!

This collection was everything I expected it to be: structured, oversized, conservative and bold as hell.

Here are some of my favourite pieces from the collection:

(1) Mirror Ball Leggings
Amazing! I’m almost instantaneously drawn to anything I can pair a plain long sleeve top with and kicks. This almost reminds me of a Sass and Bide number that was out a while ago, but less croc skinned.

(2) Invisible Wedge Ankle-boot
Just wow. Stop it. If I could get anything from this collection, this.

(3) Adjusted Biker Jacket
The structure and colour of this jacket is what makes it special. I’m a massive fan of emphasised shoulders, so I love the elevated shoulders on this jacket. I’d usually stay clear of coloured leather (I mean, why wouldn’t you want black everything?), but this beige leather seems to be an exception!

(4) Hitched Up Dress
This is one of the best-styled looks in the look book. This dress would look amazing on, and I can imagine it looking just as amazing even with sandals. Love the colour, love the asymmetry. Once again, black would’ve been nice!

(5) Oversized Pea Coat
This to me, is classic MMM. Oversized. Black. To be honest, I’d just want this to answer “Margiela” when someone asks what’s that jacket?

Heres the link to the H&M website if you wanted to check out the full collection.

Although I wont be getting my hands on any of these pieces (maybe if I’m super keen on ebay!!), I cant wait for H&M to open its first store in Melbourne very soon.

Let me know what your favourite pieces from the MMM for H&M collection are!

Happy Birthday! From VS xoxo

It’s my birthday! And what better way to celebrate it then by seeing live photo feeds of the 2012 Victoria Secret Fashion Show. Here are some of my favourite looks from the show, featuring some of my favourite angels: Chanel Iman, Lily Aldridge, Jess Hart, Behati Prinsloo, Shanina Shaik, Selita Ebanks, Cara Delevingne and Liu Wen:

Can’t wait to see the actual show in December (and see Justin Bieber perform)! To me, the entertainers who perform at each years VS shows are just as important as the looks itself. And I'll have to admit, Justin Timberlake in 2006, and Kanye West and Jay Z last year take the cake!

Not that I would doubt it, but enjoy!
